Does the soul have parts? Probably not in the sense that you could ever disassemble it. Still, if you take your time and look closely, you can distinguish all sorts of different functions, powers and inclinations which, all of them together, make up the greatest miracle on earth: conscious presence.

Pit Crew

We will be learning from the absolute best of the best. After a brief introductory class with Plato, Plotinus and Saint Augustine, we'll venture deep into the Sonian Forest to find John of Ruusbroec and his mysterious Spiritual Tabernacle. This is a vast universe of 14th Century Flemish Mysticism, and it will eat you alive. And you'll be glad it did.

Format

The classes of this course consist of seven documentary style movies and text files. There will be a forum to ask father Hugo questions, and to discuss the material with your fellow students. You will have access to the material indefinitely, there's no time limit to the course.
